Tour Description
You will be picked up from your Sydney accommodation in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach for the first leg of your journey. On our way out to the mountains we visit the Sydney Olympic site as well as stopping in at Featherdale Wildlife Park. After your ‘wild’ encounters at Featherdale, we continue to Katoomba. Here you can opt for a delightful and scrumptious lunch ($15 extra, payable on the bus) before the sightseeing begins.
On this trip you will see famous landmarks such as Boar's Head, Orphan Rock and the Rainforest Boardwalk. Don’t put your camera away just yet, as the next stop is one of the Blue Mountain’s most popular – the majestic Three Sisters at Echo Point! From here, you’ll also see Mt. Solitary, the Jamieson Valley and Australia’s ‘Grand Canyon’.
Close by at Scenic World*, you can opt to ride the Skyway or Cableway for unparalleled views of the Jamieson Valley, the Three Sisters and the Katoomba Falls. The Skyway is suspended 270 metres above the forest below, with either electro-glass flooring or solid flooring (depending on how brave you are). The Cableway is the Southern Hemispheres steepest and largest aerial cableway, taking passengers to and from the Jamieson Valley and its 2.4 km of stunning rainforest walkway.
You may also opt to jump aboard the Scenic Railway – the world’s steepest incline railway – for a journey through the lush vegetation to an elevated boardwalk, from which you can take an interpretive walk (*the Scenic Railway , both cableways plus forest boardwalk experience at Scenic World is an optional extra, payable on the day).
Throughout the day, you will also learn a bit about the local Indigenous culture, European history and facts about the endemic flora and fauna of the area.
Before leaving the mountains we also visit Leura with its stunning manicured gardens and give you some time inside the Olde Candy store.
When you return to Sydney, join a river cruise back to the city (missing the traffic) along the Parramatta River and into Sydney Harbour. Cruise under the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Circular Quay where our tour ends, arriving at around 6pm. Please note that hotel transfers back to your hotel are not included.
